What a question. I think that if you are alive, then we all get hungry. We rely on food and water to nourish our bodies so that we can grow to be healthy and strong men and women.
But I think what I am asking is, if you are a Christ follower. "Are you hungry"?
Are you hungry for the things of God? Do you seek to even find out what it is He is hungry for?
Last night we had our pre kickoff to what I believe could be the most powerful, life changing event that we have ever experienced at LifeBridge. If, people are hungry for it!
Last night we had the start of the One Prayer event with a prayer service that had several other area churches here to participate. And that we as a church will be doing for the month of June.
Now I have to be honest. (people have never known me not to be.) Our First Wednesday service was AWESOME! But the turnout of people, was anything but awesome.
Which led me to start thinking. Are people really hungry? I don't know, maybe you are happy with where you are at in your spiritual journey. (which I seriously doubt). Or maybe you are content with just maintaining the "status quo"(which by the way, is short for "the mess your in".)
But Jesus said, in Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled".
Do people really get that? If you hunger and thirst for the things of God then HE will fill you! And you will be blessed.
So how do we hunger and thirst for God? Answer: The Bible, and PRAYER!
Now I don't know what it was that kept people away. But I again ask the question. "What are you hungry for"? Only you can answer!

Bobby, what an awesome comment!!! Last night was indeed a GREAT night. Jesus was there desiring to Bless us. I know HE did me. I have had some stressful things taking place at work, people I love and care about going through some real trails. A couple I have been following through email of their little girl Talia who they buried last week due to losing the battle with cancer. My heart breaks for things I see around me...Then I go to our prayer service last night and God places everything in perspective for me and once again fills me with hope and joy beyond words so I can continue the race for JESUS. Then Bobby I read the verse Matt 5:6-Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness and you will be filled!!!!Amen and Amen Praise God HE IS and HE DOES. Thank you Jesus. Please know Bobby how your Blog entry blessed my heart. Thank you sooooo much brother:)
