Good To Great!

By Bob Rogers

Have you ever had those thoughts where everything you do just doesn't seem good enough? I do all the time!

Now before you say anything like, well, "you just need to have faith or just let the spirit lead". I totally understand that "apart from God, we can do NOTHING"! So I get that.

But, I will hear all the time from people, that was a "GREAT" movie, or that was a "GREAT" show, or a "GREAT" dinner. But I also hear things like, the service in Church today was "GOOD". So I will ask myself, why is it that the world will offer us "GREAT" but the Church only "GOOD"?

I heard along time ago that GOOD is the enemy of GREAT! And if the Bible tells us that in everything that we do, we are to do as unto the Lord. Why are we settling for "GOOD"?

Now I know that this may ruffle a few feathers for people. So let me say, "GREAT"! Sometimes we need our feathers ruffled in order to ask ourselves, are we giving God our best?

You may be one of those type of people that do alot of things for God. So let me say a personal "thank you".  But I believe that for the Church to go from "GOOD to GREAT", it is not about less people doing more, but more people taking what they do, no matter how big or small it may seem to them. And just doing it better!

The world will offer us the best. Isn't it time that the Church stop taking a back seat?

Just some thoughts...

In Him,

Pastor Bobby

I agree! Good can be the enemy of great. We have to be willing to consistently evaluate and be evaluated to go from good to great.

We cannot settle for good when we can be great! That is especially true in God's Kingdom. Why give him mediocre, middle of the road, half-best?

Thanks for the insight Bobby!

I totally agree. We should all be striving to be great - giving God all of our greatness - that He has ultimately given us in the first place! We should never give Him any less than that - but unfortunately, we do all the time!
