What another incredible day at LifeBridge. I don't know what it is, but when ever we have a baptism, I get "pumped up". We had 12 people baptized today. We are on our way to seeing 100 by the end of the year. Go Jesus!!!
Today was a great ending to a series that I believe, can change some peoples lives if they will take what the scripture's say, then, as the Nike slogan say's, "Just do it"!
I don't know about you, but I believe that there are to many, what I call, Cafeteria Christians out there. you know, they are the ones that walk down the Bible food line picking and choosing what part of the Bible best fits to their life. Instead of making their life fit to what the Bible tells us to do.
So I pray that during this series people were challanged to step up their spiritual walk with God and allow Him to make the changes needed to make us into the men and women He has called us to be.
I also had the opportunity today to teach our membership class to a great group of people that were there to hear where we believe God is taking us as a Church. "I Love My Job". I did by the way, let them know that if they did not plan on stepping up and serving as a member somewhere. then LifeBridge, is probably not the church for them.
I also want to give a "shout out" to our worship team. What an incredible set today. I love how we can take the songs of yesterday, and give them an edge to play in today's generation. Not to mention, "THEY ROCKED THE HOUSE"!!!
Again, I cannot express what an honor and a privilage it is to be able to serve in a church that wants to make an impact to the next generation in our community by seeing thousands of unchurched people reached for Jesus.
Today's service was AWESOME! Let me know what you think!!!
Hey Bobby, Just wanted you to know that although I joked with you about singing country it really was great. My Mom died last year on June 1st and my Dad chose to spend his day at service yesterday at LaifeBridge and not his church and he's a big country music fan. When you did the Walk the Line and the 'house lights' came up he had the biggest smile on his face. He turned to me and said it reminded him of when he'd take us as kids to see a country jamboree. Near the end of the song I started filling out my response sheet and you started to come down the isle, he gave me a strong nudge and said Dave, look, look he's walking the line and had a laughter in his voice. Man, that song, God and you allowing God to lead you down the path to doing a genre you don't care a lot for made my Dads day. He called all my brothers and told them about it and how he'd seen Johnny Cashs' son, Bobby Cash at my church. So, on the anniversary of my Moms return Home my Dad was joyous and talked of God and a local little church, with a crazy Pastor who Walked the Line, instead of getting down remembering how we all miss Mom. Thanks for letting God lead you. All Praise to God for being the Great, Wonderful, Compassionate God He Is.
