Hey all, yeah thats right. I am a newbe to the blog world. I to this day, really don't know why I have stepped out to even do this. I just know that it is the really cool thing to do!
So I have decided that I would use this forum to communicate to my students that are out there in this age of blogging. So if you are a student, then this blog will be for you!
God has been doing alot of awesome things in my life lately and I would really like to use this site not only to share with parents and students all of the really cool things that we are doing in the lifeBridge Church Student Ministry, but to also give people an opportunity to spend a little more time in trying to understand the life of a pastor.
So as I begin to kick off my blogging world, my prayer is that as I express and share the things that God is doing in me, that He would be glorified and honored.
Let me first start off by saying that if you are a part of LifeBridge Church and are NOT a part of a Life Group, you have no idea what you are missing! I must add that I am really excited about the "coolest" Life Group ever.
Last night was just another way for God to really show me that He is in control of everything. I am so thankful for the people that are in our group. This session has been an awesome opportunity for us to not only deepen our relationship with one another, but to walk even closer to Jesus.
What started out as a study quickly became an evening of excitement, joy, and encouragement as we were truly "Doing Life Together". GOD IS SO GOOD! So I guess what I am trying to say is that if you have not yet experienced that feeling by stepping out of your comfort zone to see what God has in store for you, it is never to late. Stop by Connection Central and get into one right away. I promise, you will not regret it.
Students, tommorrow is going to be an awesome day. I will be speaking on the subject of "Dating" so you will not want to miss it! Parents if you have a teenage son or daughter, my challenge is that you make sure they are there as well.
I believe that it is going to be an incredible day. Remember, it is not to late to invite that special friend, family member, co-worker, or even someone you don't even like to friend day! I amLooking forward to what God is going to do!!!
Let me say that today was another incredible day at LifeBridge. From the opening song (our worship team ROCKS!) to the closing prayer it was evident that God was working in the hearts of people.
I was able to speak to students on the subject of dating today. Let me say, that with what the world is telling our teens, dating is not an easy topic to discuss. But once again God showed up, and I believe that the students responded well. I just love to teach! I am so thankful that God has allowed me to use that gifts that He has given me to reach students in our world today.
We have our summer camp scheduled for the end of June and boy the buzz from the students is Off The Chain! They have been looking forward to this trip since last year, and it is going to be even more awesome then last year.
If you are a student in grade 6th to 12th grade and are reading my blog, let me personally invite you to our weekly Thursday night event called "The Bridge". I guarantee you will have a blast. Well it's late and I have had a long day! See you tommorrow!zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Let me say, we live in a world where it seems that everyday things are changing. All you have to do is just take a look at technology and enough can be said.
You know, people always ask me, "if you could have lived in any era in history, which one would it be?" You know what my response is? "It would be here, and now!!!" I love the fact that God has me right here, right now.
People will ask, aren't you afraid for your kids? Of Course I am afraid for my kids! What father wouldn't be. But, in the fast pace world where everyone is looking for the next best thing, I am so thankful that I serve a God that "NEVER CHANGES!!!" "He is the same yesterday, today and forever."
I am also thankful that He allows me to serve in this generation of change. See change is not a bad thing. The bible tells us that David, served God in his generation, and then he died. So I have to believe that David used the methods of the time, to deliver the never changing message of Jesus.
I spent an hour today having a great conversation with a former student at LifeBridge, it was Jody Oliver. He has a band that is doing some really cool things. And as I was talking and listening, the Lord revealed some really awesome things to me in regards to the Student Ministry at LifeBridge.
We have always said and believe that the methods in which we reach people must always change, but the message we proclaim must never change. People, we have the hope of the world! let's just learn to do it in a way that they can understand. So be looking for some really cool and awesome things to be taking place in the Student Ministry.
Have you ever had "one of those day's" where it seems like everything that you are trying to get done, seems to be going really slow, and all it does is give you tremendous stress? We'll that is what my day is like! I don't know if it is the weather or what! (i really feel like playing some golf right now)
So I started to just take some time to pray. I believe that if I had started there my day may not have been like it was!!! It is amazing to me everytime it happens, God will use those most stressful times to really speak to me. Again, he brought to mind the passage, "that apart from Me, you can do nothing."
So I believe what He was saying to me was that at those times when you are "stressed out" you just need to talk to the one who is the stress reliever. Boy am I glad He is God and I am not!!! So I don't know if your day is anything like mine or not. But if it is, Let me challange you to take it to "The Man" and see what answer He has for you. Well, back to work!
