Life Group

By Bob Rogers

Let me first start off by saying that if you are a part of LifeBridge ChurchOpen in a new window and are NOT a part of a Life Group, you have no idea what you are missing! I must add that I am really excited about the "coolest" Life Group ever.

Last night was just another way for God to really show me that He is in control of everything. I am so thankful for the people that are in our group. This session has been an awesome opportunity for us to not only deepen our relationship with one another, but to walk even closer to Jesus.

What started out as a study quickly became an evening of excitement, joy, and encouragement as we were truly "Doing Life Together". GOD IS SO GOOD! So I guess what I am trying to say is that if you have not yet experienced that feeling by stepping out of your comfort zone to see what God has in store for you, it is never to late. Stop by Connection Central and get into one right away. I promise, you will not regret it.

Students, tommorrow is going to be an awesome day. I will be speaking on the subject of "Dating" so you will not want to miss it! Parents if you have a teenage son or daughter, my challenge is that you make sure they are there as well.

I believe that it is going to be an incredible day. Remember, it is not to late to invite that special friend, family member, co-worker, or even someone you don't even like to friend day!  I amLooking forward to what God is going to do!!!

Sunday At LifeBridge

By Bob Rogers

Let me say that today was another incredible day at LifeBridgeOpen in a new window. From the opening song (our worship team ROCKS!) to the closing prayer it was evident that God was working in the hearts of people.

I was able to speak to students on the subject of dating today. Let me say, that with what the world is telling our teens, dating is not an easy topic to discuss. But once again God showed up, and I believe that the students responded well. I just love to teach! I am so thankful that God has allowed me to use that gifts that He has given me to reach students in our world today.

We have our summer camp scheduled for the end of June and boy the buzz from the students is Off The Chain! They have been looking forward to this trip since last year, and it is going to be even more awesome then last year.

If you are a student in grade 6th to 12th grade and are reading my blog, let me personally invite you to our weekly Thursday night  event called "The Bridge".  I guarantee you will have a blast. Well it's late and I have had a long day!  See you tommorrow!zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Pastor Bobby

A Never Changing God, In A Ever Changing World

Let me say, we live in a world where it seems that everyday things are changing. All you have to do is just take a look at technology and enough can be said.

You know, people always ask me, "if you could have lived in any era in history, which one would it be?" You know what my response is? "It would be here, and now!!!" I love the fact that God has me right here, right now.

People will ask, aren't you afraid for your kids? Of Course I am afraid for my kids! What father wouldn't be. But, in the fast pace world where everyone is looking for the next best thing, I am so thankful that I serve a God that "NEVER CHANGES!!!" "He is the same yesterday, today and forever."

I am also thankful that He allows me to serve in this generation of change. See change is not a bad thing. The bible tells us that David, served God in his generation, and then he died. So I have to believe that David used the methods of the time, to deliver the never changing message of Jesus.

I spent an hour today having a great conversation with a former student at LifeBridgeOpen in a new window, it was Jody OliverOpen in a new window. He has a band that is doing some really cool things. And as I was talking and listening, the Lord revealed some really awesome things to me in regards to the Student Ministry at LifeBridgeOpen in a new window

We have always said and believe that the methods in which we reach people must always change, but the message we proclaim must never change. People, we have the hope of the world! let's just learn to do it in a way that they can understand. So be looking for some really cool and awesome things to be taking place in the Student Ministry.

In Him,

Pastor Bobby

Stress!

Have you ever had "one of those day's" where it seems like everything that you are trying to get done, seems to be going really slow, and all it does is give you tremendous stress? We'll that is what my day is like! I don't know if it is the weather or what! (i really feel like playing some golf right now)

So I started to just take some time to pray. I believe that if I had started there my day may not have been like it was!!! It is amazing to me everytime it happens, God will use those most stressful times to really speak to me.    Again, he brought to mind the passage, "that apart from Me, you can do nothing."

So I believe what He was saying to me was that at those times when you are "stressed out" you just need to talk to the one who is the stress reliever. Boy am I glad He is God and I am not!!! So I don't know if your day is anything like mine or not. But if it is, Let me challange you to take it to "The Man" and see what answer He has for you.  Well, back to work!

Takin It To The Streets!

By Bob Rogers

As many know, that is exactly what the theme for LifeBridgeOpen in a new window is. "Takin It To The Streets" Today I will be in the classroom of a local middle school with about 40 - 50 students just getting to know them and understand a little more of their world. I don't know what it is, but today too many people seem to be afraid of teenagers. I think there pretty cool!!!

I also believe that teenagers are just misunderstood. They, at this point in their lives are looking for relationships. Yes, a relationship with adults! They need to know that someone other then their parents, care about them. They also want to know that there is no hidden agenda to why you want to get to know them. Believe me, a student can smell agenda a mile away! You want some tips on working with teens? I operate under the four "C" method.

  • Contact
  • Care
  • Communicate
  • Challange

I often talk to people about having a "Fill" in your life. Something that you do, that refreshes, recharges, reconnects YOU emotionally, spiritually and physically. Let me tell you, this after school club does just that for me. It is a time that I use to NOT focus on "church stuff" Let me let you in on a little secret, I haven't even invited any of them to church!

Maybe you are not called to work with students, but, if you are a Christ follower, you are called to something! We need to do the best we can with what God gives us to accomplish His mission. Just some thoughts, let me know what you think!!!

In Him,

Pastor Bobby

"The Bridge"

By Bob Rogers

Just a reminder that tonight we have our weekly student gathering called "The Bridge". It is a really cool opportunity for students from the 6th to the 12th grade to come and just hang out! Students need more places that are a safe environment where they can go, let their hair down, and just be themselves. Without being judged.

I am so thankful for the vision that we have for reaching the next generation. Do you know that statistics show, that most people that come to a relationship with Jesus, do so before the age of 18! I don't know what that say's to you, but to me, it's pretty important that we reach the next generation.

But for alot of people, it is really hard to make the necessary changes to be comfortable in reaching out. So if you are one of those that has passed the next generation age. The next time you see a young person, whether it be your son or daughter, or grandchild, or even a neighbor. Ask yourself, am I ready to make the necessary changes in my life, to do whatever it takes to reach them for Jesus. You may be suprised just how easy it is!!

Let me know what you think.

In Him,

Pastor Bobby

If You Are A Christian!

By Bob Rogers

If you have trusted Jesus as your only way of salvation, then God is in the process of changing you into something Awesome. Everyday of our life He works, shaping us, molding us, all to be used for HIS purpose. I cannot begin to comprehend why He would use me to accomplish His work!

One of the things that I have found out is that we often fight against what God wants to do in our lives. Rather then surrender, we go kicking and screaming! And all that does is  keep us from becoming all that God desires us to be.

All throughout scripture God uses pictures and stories to help us understand exactly what He is talking about. One of the things I was reading was the image of God being the potter, and us being the clay. (Jeremiah 18)

I was at a conference one time and the speaker was talking about how when you are making a pot out of clay. The clay will have a tendency to resist the hands of the potter. So bits of clay fall off the mound little by little to what he called "waste away".

He said that if it goes on for too long, no clay will remain. So it got me to thinking, that that is the same with us. When we resist God, and the things that we know He wants us to do in our lives for him. We can easily find ourselves "wasting away" in our own sin...

I don't know where your at in your walk with God at this point in your life.  But I do know that you can start fresh and new TODAY!!! Remember, He is the potter, we are the clay. We just need to allow Him to shape us to what He wants us to be.

Just some thoughts!!!!

In Him,

Pastor Bobby
